This year’s blend takes us deep into the beating heart of East Africa, where two remarkable origins meet, Ethiopia Kaffa G2 and Tanzania AA South. Together, they create a brew that’s equal parts sunrise and soul.
Born in the Birthplace of Coffee: Ethiopia Kaffa
If coffee had a home, it would be Kaffa. Tucked high in the misty forests of southwest Ethiopia, this region is where Arabica first took root. Here, smallholder farmers handpick ripe cherries that grow wild beneath the forest canopy. The washed process brings out the coffee’s clean, refined character and the result is everything you’d hope for from the birthplace of coffee.
It’s delicate, elegant, and just a little wild; like the first glimmer of light breaking over the horizon.
From the Southern Highlands: Tanzania AA
Cross the border south, and you’ll find yourself in Mbeya, Tanzania’s coffee heartland. Here, communities of farmers work side by side, cultivating coffee in rich volcanic soils at high altitude. Their fully washed process and careful drying on raised African beds give us a coffee that’s as strong and soulful as the people who grow it.
In the cup, it’s rich and has balanced sweetness and a smooth finish, the perfect companion to Kaffa’s bright, floral elegance.
